Popular dance fads of the past include the Mashed Potato, the Watusi and, we’re not making this up, the Stanky Legg.
Staring into our crystal ball, we predict that doing the Twist is going to be the next big thing just as soon as this Big Deal with the Masala Twist Indian restaurant on Byres Road gets out.
Two course Indian meal
This Big Deal with the popular Masala Twist in Glasgow’s West End is for two people to each enjoy a glass (175ml) of the house red or white wine followed by a starter, main course and accompanying rice or bread.
With the exception of thalis, seafood and tandoori dishes, the offer is valid across the a la carte menu.
The wide-ranging menu is packed with well known spicy delights such as onion bhajis, chicken tikka masala and taste bud-tingling lamb madras but there is plenty to tempt the more adventurous diner.
The chef’s regional specialities range from a lip-smacking Hyderabadi biryani to a mouth-watering Punjabi butter chicken.
You could also try the Zyakadar hiran, a Rajasthani dish of tender venison cooked with aromatic spices.
Or, a little closer to home but still from the Indian regional specialities, you could dig into mince and tatties with an Indian twist.
The Big Deal includes your choice of rice or bread to accompany each diner’s meal.
At the time of writing, Masala Twist has been rated 4.3/5 by 5pm customers who have eaten at the restaurant and then reviewed it. This is what Kenny Lang had to say at the end of January:
‘We booked through 5pm & one of our party was our 8 year old boy. We absolutely loved it. The food was superb & both the girls that served us were extremely friendly, helpful & courteous. Will definitely be back & will recommend to friends.’ Rating 4.8/5
