In hot countries, people eat spicy food to help them cool down.
Paradoxically, Scots eat curry as an alternative to wearing thermal underwear for ten months of the year.
Get your cosy on with today’s Big Deal on an a la carte meal for two at the buzzy Green Chilli Café in Glasgow’s vibrant West End.
A la carte
This taste bud-tingling offer is for two people to each enjoy any starter and any main course from the 5pm Big Deal Menu at the Green Chilli Café.
Each diner can choose a bread or rice to accompany their meal and a 175ml glass of house wine is also included in the offer.
The menu offers a fantastic choice of authentic Indian dishes plus a few whose roots are perhaps more Buchanan Street than Bombay.
Popular starters include the aubergine fritters, chicken pakora, chilli king prawns and the haggis fritters which come with a tangy sauce.
Hardcore chilli fans might want to take on the green chilli pakora.
The main courses are just as exciting. Alongside crowd pleasers like the lamb Bhoona and chicken korma are choices such as the Goan fish curry; royal chicken jalfrezi and the hot ‘n’ sour chicken sharabi which is cooked with a dash of Chianti.
Add in a buttery paratha bread or a portion of delicious pilau rice and you have a tasty meal which will help ward off any wet and windy weather.
