Some people ask just one thing of their tea – that it’s strong enough to stand a spoon in.
If your interest in tea goes much deeper than a mug of builder’s then today’s Big Deal could be just your cup of Lapsang Souchong. Or Gharra Chai. Or Royal Oolong.
The offer comes from Cup, the award-winning Glasgow tea business, and it will appeal to anyone who wants to dive into the fascinating world of tea.
Cup Tea Society
The offer is for a starter membership of the Cup Tea Society.

Tasting notes – a brilliant way to learn more about the selected teas.
A welcome voucher for tea and large scones for two at Cup.
A 10% Cup discount card which is valid for three months.
Starter packs must be collected from Cup Tea Lounge on Renfield Street.
Discount cards and welcome vouchers are valid Monday to Friday in both Cup Tea Lounge in the city centre and Cup Tea Room on Byres Road.
If your starter membership encourages you to explore the world of Cup tea in even more depth, then you can upgrade to annual membership for an additional £75.
Annual membership includes the tea of the month being delivered to your door; tasting notes; tea cam learning videos; quarterly tea tastings; 2 X tea for two vouchers and much more.
Popular tea rooms
Since Cup Tea Room opened in 2010, the Byres Road business has been a massive hit with Glasgow’s tea-lovers.
Spurred on by the success of the original, a new branch, called Cup Tea Lounge, was opened in beautiful listed premises on Renfield Street in 2012. It quickly became just as popular as the original.
Both have won awards. Cup Tea Lounge was given membership of the prestigious UK Tea Guild in 2012 while the Tea Guild’s Awards of Excellence 2013 was given to Cup Tea Room this year.
Both branches have wowed 5pm Dining customers. This is what one guest thought of her time at Cup Tea Lounge:
‘Best afternoon tea in Glasgow. First time in Cup Tea Lounge and I wasn’t disappointed. Lovely food, amazing decor and fantastic service.’ Rating 5/5
