‘What did Europe ever do for us?’ is a question which has been asked a lot of late.
The Big Deal doesn’t do politics but we would point to the continent’s long history of making wine and say ‘That’s a pretty good start’.
Raise a glass to the wine maker’s art with today’s Big Deal on wine tasting events from The Wine Palate.
Passion and TLC
Independent wine merchants, The Wine Palate are passionate about bringing carefully selected, high quality small production and boutique wine to wine lovers.
They specialise in wine made with TLC and you can taste that passion at either of these two tastings at Metropolitan Cocktail Bar and Restaurant in Glasgow’s Merchant Square.
Open to all
You certainly don’t need to be a wine buff to enjoy a Wine Palate event.
The tastings will be ideal for anyone who likes wine and wants to know a little bit more and discover some new favourites.
Choose your date
Option one is for entry for one person to the wine tasting which takes place from 2pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 28th August 2016.
Option two is for entry for one person to the wine tasting which takes place from 2pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 2nd October 2016.
Both are seated events. Guests will be served nine wines and five delicious canapés prepared by the Metropolitan chef and chosen to match the wines.
Your host will give a presentation for each wine.
Great selection of wines
The exact selection changes each time but a typical tasting will cover white, red, rosé, sparkling and dessert wines or Champagne.
Chosen from around the globe, the selection is often themed to the season so expect festive recommendations at the October tasting.
Guests can look forward to premium quality wines which you won’t see on the supermarket shelves. The atmosphere is relaxed – there will be no questions at the end!
What there will be is lots of information about the wines you will sample without wine jargon or complicated technical information.
We have a limited allocation of places for these tastings and expect high demand for them.
The tastings would make a great day out with friends; they are ideal for the wine lover who wants to know more and they would make a very thoughtful gift.
