The writer Brillat-Savarin quipped that ‘A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine’.
Feel the warmth of wine with today’s Big Deal on entry to The Glasgow Wine Festival on Sunday 27 September.
Hosted by The Wine Palate, the event takes place The Trades Hall Glasgow on Glassford Street and is a fantastic way to learn more about wine – all in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
In the luxurious surroundings of The Trades Hall of Glasgow, visitors will be invited to discover high quality wines from boutique and family owned vineyards – from exciting emerging wine regions to well known regions steeped in winemaking history.
There will be the opportunity to sample over 50 quality and limited production wines from independent wine producers.
Guests can sign up to mini wine master classes including tutored tastings.
The subjects covered include ‘how to identify quality wine’ and ‘discovering Argentinean wine’ – all presented by enthusiastic wine experts.
Throughout the two sessions, live jazz musicians from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and accomplished jazz/blues pianist Douglas Johnston will be playing in the Grand Hall and the Saloon Room.
If you like wine and would like to learn more, this is a great opportunity to learn firsthand about the passion and expertise that goes into making boutique quality wine.
The event is perfect for wine lovers who want to find out more without wine snobbery, wine jargon or complicated technical information.
Naturally, if you find a great wine which you love then you can order more on the day.
