Covered in etchings, pictures, paintings and maps dating from the 19th century, the decor at Ingram Wynd is a treasure trove of local history while the restaurant delivers delicious contemporary cuisine.
Available from noon to 8pm, Sunday to Friday, and from noon to 4pm on Saturdays, the offer is for two people to each enjoy a main course from the main menu plus a cocktail each.
There is a wide choice of dishes available. Served with crusty bread and butter, the stovies are always hugely popular as is the pale ale-battered fish served with skin-on chips mushy peas, pickled onion and tartare sauce.
The venison stew and roast breast breast of chicken with haggis stuffing have many fans as does the char-grilled pork loin with a butter, sage and rosemary jus and mashed potato.
Seafood lovers might want to try the Cullen skink stew or the glazed chilli salmon with rosemary roast potatoes.
Veggie options include the vegetarian haggis; the mixed medley of vegetables, spring onion, coriander, chilli and egg noodles plus the goat’s cheese risotto with beetroot crisp.
Steaks are excluded from this offer and there is a £4 supplement on the mixed seafood grill plus the veal and scallop dishes.
There’s nothing we like better than starting a meal with a well-made cocktail and there are several to choose from with this Big Deal.
We’re tempted by the Botanical Bramble but could find love in our hearts for a Side Car. Or an Espresso Martini.
Oh wait, they’ve got Cosmos and Scotch Old Fashioneds.
Ingram Wynd is a hit with 5pm users. Each time we have done a deal with the restaurant, it has sold faster than a politician forgetting a promise.
