Situated across the road from Glasgow’s King’s Theatre, Marcello’s (formerly Massimo) is a modern Italian restaurant which serves freshly cooked dishes made from the finest seasonal ingredients.

This Big Deal would be ideal for a working lunch; a romantic dinner or a quick bite before catching a show at the SSE Hydro or SECC. With vouchers valid until the end of February, it would also make a cute Christmas present.

A la carte menu

The offer is available Monday to Saturday for lunch and from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the evenings.

It is for two people to have two courses from the a la carte menu at Marcello’s along with a glass of house wine or flute of Prosecco.

There is a choice of starters. Guests are then invited to choose their main course from the pizza, pasta and risotto options.

From the classic Margherita to the Parma ham and fresh rocket pizza, all Marcello’s pizza are thin-based and topped with delicious fior di latte mozzarella.

The pasta selection has plenty of familiar choices such as the spaghetti carbonara and Bolognese as well as options such as the tagliatelle funghi e spinaci – egg pasta with wild porcini mushrooms, Sicilian cherry tomatoes and baby spinach in a lightly spiced Parmesan cheese sauce.

Add in porcini or spicy Italian sausage risotto and there are lots of great dishes to choose from.

Seafood dishes will be charged a £2 supplement.

Marcello’s has not been slow in attracting enthusiastic reviews on its 5pm page. At the time of writing, 365 5pm customers have given the restaurant a very impressive 4.3/5.
