If that July heat is putting you in a Mediterranean mood, well why not indulge your secret Spanish side? Forget about the queue for Ryanair check-in, today’s Big Deal brings Spain to you.
Or at least to your plate. The señors and señoritas at La Boca, that little slice of España on Hope Street, have a new menu to celebrate. Choose from a tapas feast or a Spanish mixed grill with an offer that has the seductive scent of Andalucia all over it.
La Boca’s Spanish chefs use the finest imported ingredients and dish up the classic dishes of the old country in an atmosphere reminiscent of the best little bars of Madrid or Andalucia.
Available Sunday 1pm-7pm and Monday-Friday from noon until 8pm, the Big Deal option one is for two people to share five tapas, with a glass of Cava each.
Option two is for two people to share a Spanish mixed grill platter, with a bottle of house wine.
The wide-ranging tapas menu includes some familiar favourites as well as plenty of the regional specialities that make the La Boca menu so special.
Highlights include the boquerones or marinated anchovies, the distinctive albondigas meatballs, Chistorra al vino Aragonese sausage, and Berenjenas con miel de cana, fried aubergines, drizzled in sugar cane honey.
The tapas option excludes dishes from the ‘grill’ section. Revueltos, salads and prawn dishes have a £1 supplement.
Vegetarian, gluten and wheat free alternatives are available.
Option two offers the Parrillada de Carne, a mixed platter of grilled meats including Chistorra sausage, Morcilla (Spanish black pudding), chicken breast, pork fillet, secreto Iberico (succulent grilled pork) and sirloin steak, served with patatas bravas or salad. Not forgetting a bottle of house wine.
5pm diners clack their castanets in acclaim for the Spanish cuisine at La Boca. The restaurant has a high rating of 4.3/5, with recent comments including the following:
‘Freshly cooked and very hot and authentic. Have visited a number of times and enjoyed every time.’
‘Food was marvellous. Fabulous choice. Pimentos de padron amazing and aubergine dish was incredible. Would highly recommend.’
When it comes to tapas places, La Boca offers the best option we know of this side of downtown Seville. Today’s Big Deal brings you a choice of authentic Spanish tapas dishes or a hearty mixed grill, without any need for a passport check.
