It is a relaxed little Spanish outpost on Elderslie Street. And they have plenty of delicious tapas, without the inconvenience of a check-in desk, or passport control.

A taste of Spain

The Valencian chefs at Cubatas have been plying grateful diners with superb Spanish dishes since 2014, and show few signs of slowing down.

A mix of contemporary and classic tapas, the menus are regularly refreshed and updated.

The restaurant now has a beer terrace, and guests have the option to dine outside, weather permitting and subject to availability.

Great choice

Available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal is for four tapas plates for two to share at Cubatas, including a glass of sangria each.

The tapas menu includes carnivorous options such as the chorizo & mushroom croquettes, aubergine fries and aioli, the lamb meatballs, sherry, mushroom, rosemary and watercress, and the grilled chicken, courgette & carrot spaghetti and baby corn.

Vegetarian options include the patatas bravas with aioli and harissa, the potato, onion & red pepper omelette with Salmorejo, and the deep fried halloumi and slow roasted tomato jam.

Of course, it wouldn’t be tapas without a plate of croquettes or garlic and chilli king prawns.

As we remarked earlier, the chefs at Cubatas are from Valencia. So, of course, there are different paella dishes to choose between.

Selected tapas on the menu are not included, including some pork, lamb and seafood dishes.
