The Italian Caffe offers a varied menu of classic Italian cuisine with a contemporary twist and an emphasis on unique small plate dining.

The tapas menu allows diners to try a wide range of delicious dishes in one sitting, mixing original creations with classic Italian cuisine.

Today’s Big Deal is for two people to share four dishes from the small plates menu plus a glass of house wine or Prosecco each.

This offer is available until the end of September. Guests can dine between Sunday and Thursday from noon until 9pm, Fridays from noon until 5pm and Saturdays from noon until 2pm.

Chic Merchant City dining spot

Located on Albion Street, The Italian Caffe is the perfect combination of comfort and style, with sage green leather booths and walnut furnishings adding a classic touch to the bright, modern dining room.

Menus can change, but typical small plates include the roast potatoes with fresh rosemary & sea salt, the sardines grilled with sea salt & lemon, and the king prawns in a spicy Siciliana sauce, served on a crostino.

Combine these with the likes of chicken livers sautéed in a rich Marsala wine sauce and oysters Rockerfeller baked with spinach, pancetta cream and parmesan, and you will have plenty to tickle your taste buds.

Note, some dishes will incur a supplement.

‘Lovely tapas. Visited here with my family (second time for them, first for me). We were warmly greeted and had a laugh with the staff. We ordered a selection of tapas and they came in good time. They were all lovely; the spaghetti with salmon was particularly nice, as was the risotto zucchini. I had chocolate fudge cake for dessert and it was to die for, absolutely gorgeous. Also had a strawberry daiquiri, with was nice. It was a lovely evening, and we all left very satisfied!’

‘Lovely Italian cuisine, very original tapas serving, excellent service. We dropped in and had a very warm welcome by the staff. The originality here is that you can choose to have a multitude of tapas servings, allowing you to have a broad choice and share. Some dishes were really excellent such as the smoked salmon tartare, the big scallops with bacon and the braesaola in carpaccio. Superior wine list too, the Venetian Garganega dry white wine to be recommended. All very decent prices, and top friendly staff.’
