There are at least four famous Bellinis: the 20th century Venetian cocktail; the 19th century Sicilian composer; the 15th century artist and the 21st century Shawlands restaurant.
Take up today’s Big Deal on private dining at Bellini restaurant and you can enjoy an authentic taste of Italian culture without having to travel further than Kilmarnock Road.
A contemporary Italian restaurant, Bellini is a family business with a long history of running much loved restaurants in Sorrento.
You can taste all those generations of experience with a superb Neapolitan feast for eight in Bellini’s private dining room.
Starting with a glass of Prosecco as each guest arrives, the deal includes a three course dinner from the 5pm Big Deal Menu. A half bottle of house wine is included per guest along with tea or coffee to finish.
The specific dishes may vary according to what is in season but the menu comprises a choice of four starters; five main courses and a range of desserts.
Popular starters include the sautéed West Coats mussels and the magnificent antipasto Napoletano: cured Italian meat, mozzarella, olives, grilled vegetables, pickles and arancino rice balls.
From the main courses, choices are likely to include dishes such as the risotto with mushrooms, Italian spicy sausage, smoked mozzarella and rocket or the fresh sea bass fillet in lemon and orange sauce served with mashed potatoes and mixed salad.
Vegetarian options are also available on request.
For dessert, you will finish with the fresh cream profiteroles with caramel sauce and strawberry although other options are available on request.
The Sunday Herald’s Joanna Blythman reviewed Bellini last year. This is what she had to say: ‘At Bellini, I get a strong sense of people who are fresh from their mother country and faithful to its standards…Choose well here, and you’ll be rewarded with food that’s lovingly handmade.’
