House for an Art Lover

In the calendar wasteland that is January and February, everyone needs a special day out to look forward to.

Today’s Big Deal from House for an Art Lover offers just that. This day out for two includes lunch and wine in the Art Lover’s Café, plus an optional audio tour.

Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, House for an Art Lover is set in Bellahouston Park and has themed gardens to explore. It also includes an arts centre and a gift shop that’s an Aladdin’s Cave of Mackintosh-themed goods.

Lunch and tour for two

This Big Deal is for two people to enjoy a small glass of wine or soft drink alongside a main course from the set lunch menu. The deal is available from noon to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

An optional audio tour is included, so you can spend some time exploring the house and grounds while learning more about Mackintosh’s life.

The elegant Art Lover’s Café uses fresh ingredients from the best local suppliers to create memorable dishes. The menu can vary, but main course lunch options could include the following:

Crispy fish cakes, summer vegetables and chive sauce

Girolle mushroom tagliatelle with Parmesan

‘Coq au vin’ with pancetta, onion, mushroom and buttered mash

Scottish cod, coco beans, smoked ham and golden marjoram

Perthshire lamb gigot, roasted tomato, sauté potato and salsa verde
