Much like a small child with an eye on the biscuit tin, the Big Deal office has often wondered why enjoying good food should be restricted to the confines of breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Free yourself of the shackles of culinary convention and savour a rather decadent afternoon treat with today’s Big Deal at the Urban Bar and Brasserie on St Vincent Place in the city centre.
One of Glasgow’s more sophisticated restaurants, the Urban Bar and Brasserie has developed a select range of sharing platters for diners to enjoy in the afternoons.
This offer is for two people to share either a carnivore platter or a pescetarian platter followed a dessert platter, all finished with coffee and tablet.
City centre elegance
Once home to the Bank of England’s Scottish HQ, Urban Bar and Brasserie has retained its dashing good looks.
Decked out with wood panels, stunning flower displays and ornate cornicing, it is rather an elegant city centre spot.
Flexible meal times
Available Monday to Friday, from 2pm to 5pm and Sunday 2pm-3.30pm and 5pm this offer would be perfect for a working lunch, afternoon shopping break or a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch.
The offer is for two people to share either a carnivore or fish platter followed a sharing platter of delectable sweet treats and desserts.
The platters are mouth-watering:
Serrano ham with artichokes and pecorino; chicken liver parfait with onion marmalade; confit duck with hoisin sauce and crispy leeks served with artisan bread and oatcakes
Thai spiced smoked salmon with sweet chilli; prawn and crab cocktail with Avruga; pickled herring and sweet beetroot served with water biscuits and a Caesar salad.
A sweet taste of Urban
Lemongrass crème brulée with saffron shortbread; chocolate crumble with cardamom ice cream and toasted coconut pannacotta with caramelised banana and butterscotch.
Coffee and tablet will finish off your decadent afternoon feast.
