We’re not sure if New York invented the diner brunch, but we’re pretty confident that it does it better than anywhere else.
No need to embark on a hazardous cross-Atlantic voyage to find decent maple syrup waffles though — you just have to take a stroll to your nearest NYC-style hangout.
Such as TriBeCa diner, which is offering a Prosecco brunch for two at a choice of three Glasgow locations.
If you are looking for a fun Christmas gift for a friend, then this would make an egg-cellent choice.
Choice of three locations
Billed as ‘the original New York kitchen’, TriBeCa is a small clan of Manhattan-style restaurants in Glasgow.
Menus are true to the city’s earthy and decadent street food scene, so expect indulgent flavour combinations designed to teleport your taste buds straight to Manhattan.
The Big Deal is for a brunch for two with a glass of Prosecco each at a choice of three Glasgow locations: Dumbarton Road, Merchant City and Giffnock.
You can buy two vouchers, making this a great excuse for a casual catch-up with friends.
Guests can enjoy their brunch treat until 5th March 2019 at various times and dates, depending on the venue. The Prosecco can be swapped for a soft drink.
Fizzy diner brunch for two
As well as a glass of Prosecco each, guests can choose any dish from TriBeCa’s decadent brunch menu.
This will include American-style breakfasts, eggs benedict, pancake stacks and waffles.
There are plenty of tempting topping options as well such as bacon, sausages, strawberries, caramelised banana, chocolate chips, Nutella and Reese’s Peanut Butter.
(Ours is the banana and Nutella pancakes, please).
A taste of New York
Just like The Big Apple, customer service is a priority at every TriBeCa and a warm welcome is guaranteed.
Decor is a sleek version of the classic American diner, with U.S. flags and pictures of iconic New York scenes adding to the ambience.
In other words, it is the perfect place for a gossip session over a pancake or waffle stack.
TripAdvisor users have this to say about the various Glasgow TriBeCa venues, edited for length:
‘Can’t wait to go back again. What a place, food amazing and portions sizes are great. The decor is brilliant and Al our server couldn’t have been more helpful.’
‘Good eating experience. This small restaurant is well situated on Dumbarton Road. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. My partner and I both had brunch accompanied by freshly squeezed orange juice. The portions are generous and prepared to order. A good venue for informal American style eating.’
‘Lovely first visit. We came out for lunch with my sister and found the food and service to be outstanding. It’s a lovely airy restaurant. Our server was great too. She was helpful, polite and very accommodating…’
Unique Christmas gift idea
Know someone who enjoys dining out? Or who goes starry-eyed at the mention of The Big Apple? Then it’s a safe bet that they’d love this fizzy brunch for two at TriBeCa.
That said, you could also just grab it for yourself and store up a decadent diner treat to enjoy in the new year. Or why not buy multiples and head out with the family?
