Keep the cold at bay with today’s spicy Big Deal on a delicious three course lunch from the much loved Cafe India.
Long running restaurant
One of Glasgow’s longest running Indian restaurants, Cafe India can be found in the lively Merchant City area of Glasgow.
While the restaurant may be well established, it is no stick in the mud and the team in the kitchen believe that Indian cooking is at its best when it evolves and updates to suit modern tastes.
The kitchen brigade creates menus which combine Indian ingredients, local produce, European influences and Indian cooking techniques.
The aim is to produce a distinctive layering of flavours which will please Indian food aficionados and newbies alike.
All of the restaurant’s main ingredients are delivered from the markets each day. This fresh, locally sourced produce is cooked to order for each table.
The theatre-style open kitchen means that diners can watch as the highly skilled chefs work their magic.
By the way, their new way of approaching Indian cooking means that Cafe India aims to be as healthy as possible: low fat sauces; no ghee and chicken which is steamed or grilled.
Valid from noon to 5pm, Sunday to Friday, and from noon to 4pm on Saturdays, this offer would make a great change from lunch in the office or you could enjoy a long, leisurely lunch at the weekends.
This mouth-watering offer is for one person to enjoy a three course meal (starter, main course, dessert).
For starters guests can choose between onion bhajis – flavoursome pieces of onion covered in spicy batter and fried until golden – and chicken or vegetable pakora.
Main courses are available in a choice of lamb, chicken, vegetable, prawns or king prawns. Choose from popular styles such as bhuna, karahi, chasni, korma and our old friend rogan josh.
There will be a supplement of £2.50 on all seafood dishes, payable directly to the restaurant.
All main courses are served with steamed rice and a naan bread of your choice.
Leave space for desserts, with fresh cakes or traditional Indian ice cream available. Offer includes coffee to finish.
Cafe India has earned many a glowing review over the years. Here’s one of the most recent from TripAdvisor:
