Regular Big Deal customers will know that each deal usually starts with a bad pun, poor joke or daft wordplay.
Instead, for this offer, we figured it would be better to let The Weir’s customers tell you what they thought of the bar and restaurant in the Bridge of Weir.
Located on Main Street, The Weir is under new management and their formula for great food with a warm welcome is proving a winning one.
The following review was posted on The Weir’s TripAdvisor entry on the 11th of January. Other recent reviews are just as positive:
‘Exceptional 10/10. Tried this restaurant for dinner for the first time and everything from start to finish was amazing. The interior looked great with a nice ambient feel about it. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, however it was the food that really stood out.
‘Had all three courses and they were all cooked and presented outstandingly well. The taste of the food, especially the goat’s cheese and raspberry starter was just amazing. It’s the best meal I have tasted in a long, long time.
‘Exceeded all expectations and we will definitely be back and will spread the word to friends and family…’
A la carte menu
Available seven days a week, today’s Big Deal is for two people to enjoy any two courses (starter and main course or main course and dessert) from the a la carte menu at The Weir.
The menu is packed with brilliant dishes. From the starters, the scallops with crispy prosciutto on pea purée or the ham and lentil meatloaf are both tempting.
Among the main courses, we would choose the supreme of duck with Chinese greens, honey and sesame. Or perhaps the roasted sea bass with seared clams and asparagus. Or maybe the warm salad of chicken, bacon and avocado.
See what we mean? There is a lot to choose from and it all sounds mouth-watering.
The offer is available from noon to 9pm, Sunday to Thursday, and from noon to 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
There are supplements on all steak dishes.
Decked out in a stylish and contemporary Scottish theme, The Weir is a welcoming spot. There is regular live music from bands at the weekends and diners can also look forward to some easy going tunes from the house pianist.
As we noted above, The Weir is attracting lots of very positive reviews since the new owners took over. On their Facebook page, customers have been leaving reviews like this: ‘Amazing food, great service would highly recommend! Can’t wait to go back :)’
At the time of writing, their TripAdvisor page also rates them number one of the restaurants in Bridge of Weir.
If you want to see why so many people are raving about The Weir then today’s Big Deal is the perfect introduction.
