People have conquered Everest; smashed the four minute mile and calculated Pi to over ten trillion decimal places.
All admirable feats but not really in the same league as making a really great curry.
Celebrate one of mankind’s greatest achievements with today’s Big Deal on an authentic Indian meal at Mr Singh’s India on Elderslie Street.
Long established Indian
Since opening over fifteen years ago, three generations of the Singh family have served Glasgow’s curry lovers with menus that blend Indian culinary tradition with the occasional Scottish twist.
This Big Deal is a great way to see why Mr Singh’s India has been a hit with generations of Scotland’s Indian food fans.
Today’s Big Deal is a two tier offer.
Option one is for two people to each enjoy a curry from the traditional or speciality sections of Mr Singh’s a la carte menu.
In addition to the curries, diners can enjoy any fried or boiled rice and a 125ml glass of house wine; half pint of Kingfisher or draught soft drink.
With nearly twenty dishes to choose from in the speciality and traditional sections of the menu, diners will be spoiled for choice.
Popular main course include the South Indian garlic chilli curry for those who like it hot, sweet and spicy. Milder options include the creamy mughlai korma flavoured with ground cashews.
Traditionalists might want to try the rich lamb bhoona, sweet ‘n’ sour chicken chasni or the Mughlai korma made with ground cashews, aromatic spices and fresh cream.
Alternatively, take your taste buds off the beaten path a little with something from Mr Singh’s specialities section.
From a hot and spicy prawn balti to a garlicky lamb garam masala via the house speciality – the ambala, made to the Singhs’ secret recipe – there is something for every taste.
There are some supplements with this offer. King prawn dishes will be charged a £4 supplement while lamb tikka and chicken tikka dishes will be charged a £2 supplement. There is a £2 surcharge to swap rice for nan bread.
Taste of India Menu
Option two is for two people to enjoy a seven course tasting menu – a fantastic way to appreciate the wide range of dishes which the kitchen creates.
The idea is that you choose four starters and three main courses to share from the Taste of India menu.
The dishes on offer range from familiar favourites such as bhajis, pakora and South Indian garlic chilli prawns to more exotic choices like the haggis pakora or the lamb malaidar – spinach purée simmered with green chillies, garlic and a dash of fresh cream.
