We’ve been told that life is possible without Indian food but the thought of a future without curry gives us the shivers.
If you have a passion for patia or you’re daft for a dopiaza then indulge your ardour with today’s Big Deal on an Indian meal for two at Obsession of India.
Opened in the autumn of 2015, Obsession of India is a welcoming Indian restaurant by Glasgow’s Merchant City.
An airy space with chandeliers and a timbered ceiling, it is on the High Street and conveniently located for a curry before a show at the Tron or a gig at Barrowland.
Fresh, high quality ingredients
Available seven days a week, the offer is for two people to have a main course from the a la carte menu with rice or naan.
The offer also includes a small glass of house wine for each guest.
From creamy kormas to spicy madras dishes, there are plenty of traditional curries to choose from.
Diners are also welcome to choose from the house specialities section. This Big Deal writer always has a soft spot for the South Indian garlic chilli chicken but we could be tempted by the lailapuri – a medium hot dish cooked with chunks of mushroom, onion and green peppers.
We also like the sound of the tawa byriani – seasoned rice, chicken and mixed vegetable cooked on the tawa grill for a smoky flavour.
This offer excludes dishes from the tandoori and BBQ section, the chef’s signature dishes, king prawn dishes, lamb chops and the byriani nawabi pilau.
Some dishes will incur an additional charge. i.e. lamb dishes will be charged a £1.50 supplement.
Obsession of India has been winning lots of fans on 5pm Dining:

The great reviews are also adding up on the restaurant’s Facebook page:
‘Great food. Feels like proper home cooking. So fresh and made exactly how you want… don’t be afraid to try new things… I had a smoky karahi and it was amazing. Trust the waiters to help you have a great night. I will be back again!!’
