What does your name mean?
The name ‘Annabel’ means beauty, grace and joy (just so you know), so we’re guessing that Annabel’s Restaurant at Boclair House Hotel conjures up plenty of that.
Given the restaurant’s classic cuisine, old style glamour and expertly mixed cocktails, it can’t really fail to, can it?
Find out for yourself with today’s Big Deal for a main course for two with a glass of wine each.
Dinner for two with wine
This deal is for a main course each from Annabel’s table d’hôte menu plus a small glass of wine each.
You can dine until late September from noon – last bookings from Monday to Thursday are 4.30pm, with last bookings on a Friday at 3pm.
Got a special occasion coming up? Up to three purchases can be used per table, so you could turn it into a group affair.
Annabel’s serves classic British and European cuisine with a modern twist.
Table d’hôte dishes change regularly, but typical mains might include the pork fillet with mash potato & black pudding bon bon, the pan seared duck with celeriac fondant, root vegetables and jus, and the wild mushroom risotto with truffle cream.
Although dessert isn’t included, you might want to treat yourself. Sample temptations include the raspberry parfait with Scottish raspberries and meringue, the spiced poached pear with chocolate sauce and ice cream, and the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Embrace vintage glamour
Annabel’s is an Art Nouveau-style dining spot set in the 19th century Boclair House Hotel.
Plush red velvet seating, vintage decor touches and soft ambient lighting all add to the elegant atmosphere. Imagine turn-of-the-century Parisian bar meets Victorian gentleman’s library and you get the picture. This is the ideal destination for an intimate date or tasteful celebration with friends.
The restaurant is on Milngavie Road, a five minute walk from Hillfoot train station. If you are driving then there is free parking for up to two hours at Douglas Place, a ten minute walk away. Both Douglas Park Golf Club and Glasgow Golf Club are nearby, should you fancy dining after a round.
Previous diners at Annabel’s have posted the following praise on TripAdvisor, which we’ve edited for shortness:
’...Very relaxed atmosphere with lovely background music playing. Food was very tasty and very good quality. This was our 1st visit and it won’t be the last. Extensive drinks menu and reasonably priced considering the surroundings. Well done team Boclair.’
’...Quite simply a stunning four course meal with paired wines as an accompaniment… I have dined in the Boclair hotel restaurant in the past, and it was excellent. They transferred this and took it to a very high culinary level. Bravo to the Boclair House Hotel.’
‘Meal for four, really nice food and staff were very friendly. The risotto was fabulous, a must have. A great night and will be back. Can you say any more?’
