If you feel that your relationship with the sofa is becoming a little too close for comfort then today’s Big Deal with Action Adventure Activities offers a whole bunch of exciting reasons to get off your bum and out into Scotland’s beautiful countryside.
Taking place in and around Easterhill Farm on the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, this Big Deal is absolutely perfect for anyone who wants a taste of several thrilling outdoor activities.
Your base for your stay is the cosy Easterhill Farmhouse. The deal is for a two night bed and breakfast stay in a twin or double room. All of the rooms are newly refurbished with well equipped ensuite facilities and a free wireless network. You will start each day by feasting like a king on the breakfast buffet, followed by a full Scottish breakfast (vegetarian options are available).
You gotta roll with it
A key feature of this Big Deal is the chance for two people to each enjoy two downhill sphere runs. Whether you want to call it sphereing, zorbing or orbing, strapped inside a giant rubber ball this 360 degree thrill ride is one experience that you won’t forget.
A relatively new outdoor experience, sphereing is rapidly becoming more and more widespread and it proved very popular the last time we ran a Big Deal on it.
Choice of activities
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy another two activities. Choose two from the following:
Trail cycling: This is a great introduction to off road biking. Before setting out on your five mile woodlands trail, you will learn the basics from setting up your bike to effective braking techniques via the best ways to position your body for crossing different types of terrain.
With the essentials under your belt, it’s time for a two hour loop through the forests and along the River Forth. The trail is suited to people with a moderate level of fitness.
4X4 driving: This introduction session to the world of 4×4 driving is perfect for first timers and for younger drivers alike.
Your instructor will demonstrate the techniques required to negotiate some of the circuits on the farm and woodland course at the Action Adventure base before you get your chance to drive.
Each driver gets approximately 20 minutes behind the wheel. This session is shared with up to 4 other drivers and can last up to 2 hours.
Extended Canyoning: This thrilling outdoor activity includes river scrambles; floating down water flumes; wading through rock pools and loads of different watery jumps to test your mettle.
One of the highlights of the trip is an optional 10 metre abseil. If abseiling doesn’t take your fancy then you have the option of taking the fast route down; shouting ‘Geronimo!’ and just stepping off the edge.
Safety is a priority
Action Adventure Activities have spent over 30 years in the Scottish hospitality industry and their staff have a wealth of experience in many outdoor pursuits.
