Built in the 1850s, the premises which house the spacious Fraser Suites were designed by the architect JT Rochead, the man who also designed the Wallace Monument.
A large chunk of the funding for the monument came from Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Italian politician who is most famous for his biscuits. Unbelievably, the construction of the Albion Street address which contains the Fraser Suites was funded by another biscuit baron, the Scottish marshmallow magnate Shuggy T Wagon Wheel.
But enough cookie-based coincidence.
