Glasgow and Italian food have been a mutual admiration society for time immemorial. The city knows great Italian cuisine when it tastes it, and the best restaurants are guaranteed a loyal clientele.
Few are more celebrated than Esca, that established Merchant City favourite, and today’s destination for a welcome cocktail aperitif and some of their excellent antipasti.
Stylish Italian restaurant
Esca, with its romantic, candlelit ambiance and superb regional Italian dishes continues to attract rave reviews from diners after nearly twenty years in the business.
It’s a great place for a special night out, or just a casual rendezvous with a friend for drinks and a light meal.
Available seven days a week from noon until 9.30pm, today’s Big Deal is for two people to each enjoy a cocktail, with an antipasti platter for two to share.
Cocktails range from a classic Martini, Cosmopolitan or White Russian to fun creations like the Parma Violet flavoured gin Martini, or an Espresso Martini with coffee and Tia Maria.
The antipasti selection is the traditional appetising selection of Italian meats, cheeses and grilled vegetables.
Esca is a firm favourite with 5pm users, gaining a high rating of 4.3/5 and plenty of enthusiastic reviews, including these recent contributions:
‘We have been on numerous occasions as a couple and also with friends and never experienced a bad meal, excellent value for money and makes a change to hear nice background Italian music being played.’
‘Food and service were fantastic and a great location for a meal with the family. Very friendly and excellent value.’
The Italian job
Available seven days a week from noon, today’s Big Deal would be ideal for a relaxed get-together for chat, cocktails and a chance to sample Esca’s classic Italian fare. It’s also a handy choice for a pre-theatre bite (the Tron is right opposite).
