At a whopping three foot, American grandma Lee Redmond was said to have the longest finger nails in the world.
It took her thirty years to grow them to that length.
Unfortunately, she broke her nails in a car accident in 2009; an event that removed her from the record books but which must have made everyday tasks such as tying shoelaces; buttoning up a shirt and teeth brushing suddenly seem much less of a palaver.
Thanks to today’s Big Deal there is no need to go to such lengths to get your nails noticed.
Today’s Big Deal is for a two week nail varnish with the Beauty Cellar.
Handily located in Glasgow’s city centre, The Beauty Cellar can be accessed via Brownns on West George Street.
A trendy, modern salon staffed with experienced therapists, the salon specialises in tanning, threading and waxing as well as manicures and pedicures.
The deal includes a nail file, cuticle work and the nails being buffed before the varnish is applied.
Clients can choose from around thirty different colours (French polish is not included).
Applying the varnish is a four step procedure starting with a base coat followed by two layers of colour and a top coat. The varnish sets quickly under a UV light to produce a finish which is smudge-free, chip-resistant and will last for two weeks.
As an added bonus, anyone who purchases this Big Deal can take advantage of The Beauty Cellar’s new TANTRUTH double dark, full body spray tan for only £10 compared to the recommended retail price of £17.
The Beauty Cellar is a hit with 5pm users. This is what a couple of recent customers had to say:
‘Nails were fantastic, will be back.’ Linda Edward – 16/06/2011
‘Brilliant service and value for money. I would go back without a doubt.’ Laura Skimins – 03/06/2011
