Beyoncé once said ‘I wanted to sell a million records and I sold a million records… I’ve been working non-stop since I was fifteen. I don’t even know how to chill out.’
Well Bee Bee, we have a suggestion. Put down your hit-writing pen, change out of the stage clothes (they look glam but very uncomfortable) and grab today’s Big Deal at the four star Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro.
The Trossachs countryside will make a relaxing change of pace from Manhattan and you will have ample opportunity to chill out.
Not, of course, that you need to be globe-conquering superstar to make the most of today’s enticing Big Deal.
You just need to appreciate a lovely hotel with beautiful facilities and Nick Nairn’s irresistible dishes.
Hotel with star quality
The impressive Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro sits in ten acres of landscaped grounds and offers guests plenty of peace and tranquillity in which to unwind.
While it feels a long way from the bustle of the cities, it is within an easy 45 minute drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh – perfect for a getaway break.
Today’s offer comes in two sizes.
Option one is available Sunday to Thursday, throughout October, and is for two people to enjoy an overnight stay in a double or twin room on a dinner and breakfast basis.
Guests will also enjoy a drinks voucher, full use of the leisure facilities and a 20% discount on any spa treatments taken. Dinner is a three course table d’hote menu in The Kailyard by Nick Nairn.
Each room boasts a luxurious Sweet Dreams bed, LCD television with on-demand movies, wireless internet access, complimentary Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries and a fully stocked mini-bar.
Option two is available seven days a week, from October to December, and is for a two night stay with a full Scottish breakfast each morning and a three course table d’hote dinner in The Kailyard. As in option one, a drinks voucher, use of the leisure facilities and spa discount are also included.
Both options include a 1pm late check-out so there is no need to rush in the morning.
A full Scottish breakfast is included in both offers but the culinary highlight of your stay will be a three course dinner from the table d’hote menu in The Kailyard by Nick Nairn.
The well known chef is famous for his championing of Scottish ingredients and the menus at The Kailyard show Scotland’s larder at its best.
Exact dishes will change depending on what is in season but typical choices might include starters such as the smoked Loch Duart Scottish salmon ‘Nick Nairn’ which is served with an apple and watercress salad plus brown bread and main courses like the slow braised shoulder of lamb with olive crushed potatoes, minted peas, tomato and basil gravy.
The offer is for a three course dinner up to the value of £29.95 per person. Any supplements to be paid directly to the hotel.
Discount on spa treatments
All guests at Dunblane Hydro are welcome to use the 17-metre swimming pool, gym, steam room, sauna and bubble pool. As part of the offer, guests can also enjoy a 20% discount on any spa treatments taken during your stay.
See and do
There are plenty of local attractions to enhance your stay at the Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro. From Gleneagles Golf Course to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, the great outdoors are on the doorstep. Alternatively, learn to cook like Chef Nairn by taking a lesson at his nearby cook school.
The Doubletree by Hilton Dunblane Hydro has been welcoming guests since Victorian times. This is what a more recent visitor had to say. We have edited for length but not meaning:
‘Never wanted to leave. I stay in a lot of hotels and this is one that I really never wanted to leave. They upgraded me to a corner room with an amazing view – it was large, well decorated and modern. The bathroom was huge – something you don’t always see in Europe. The restaurants, lounges and club rooms were impeccable. Maybe a ten minute walk into town… not far from Stirling and the Wallace Monument. Would have loved to have stayed another night or two.’
