Successful partnerships take many forms: Ant ‘n’ Dec, Lennon ‘n’ McCartney and, er, Batman ‘n’ Robin, all spring to mind.
Blending Scottish and Italian culinary traditions, today’s Big Deal with Scotalia is another delicious duo.
Based on Glasgow’s Hope Street, this friendly and welcoming restaurant celebrates the best of both Scottish and Italian cooking and produce.
A la carte
Today’s dynamic Big Deal is for two people to each enjoy any pasta or pizza from the a la carte menu at Scotalia.
From classic carbonara to lasagne verdi via the penne marinara with prawns, mussels and squid, the a la carte menu is packed with tempting pasta options.
Alternatively tuck into the terrific Scotalia range of stone-baked pizza.
You could keep it simple with a Margherita, topped with mozzarella and rich Napoli sauce, or take a deep breath and order up the Meat Feast topped with meatballs, pepperoni, Parma ham and mozzarella.
Bring your own bottle
Today’s Big Deal is, of course, a bargain. As an added bonus, Scotalia operates a BYOB policy so you can bring your own wine, beer or spirits at a flat rate of £1.95 a head.
At the time of writing, just over 200 people have booked at Scotalia through 5pm and left a review of their meal.
Scoring a combined rating of 4/5, the restaurant has plenty of enthusiastic fans, many of whom have given a big thumbs-up to the friendliness of the staff and the BYOB policy:
‘The restaurant is cosy and inviting. Staff were second to none and very chatty. Food was beautiful. BYOB worked well as well. Better than having over priced drinks…’ Rating 4.6/5
‘Excellent… As usual. We are regular visitors to Scotalia as the food is good, the staff are friendly and the value for money is great!’ Rating 5/5
