Traditionally in Italy, it’s not Santa Claus that brings children presents but La Befana, a kindly witch.
There are no pointy hats or broomsticks with today’s 3 Course Christmas Big Deal menu at the family friendly Di Maggio’s restaurants but we still reckon that it will enchant lovers of authentic Italian food.
Certainly every previous Di Maggio’s Big Deal has been as popular as a space under the mistletoe around Brad and Angelina’s gaffe.
This lip-smacking Big Deal is for a three course Christmas menu plus tea/coffee and tablet from Di Maggio’s special Big Deal menu.
It’s available Sunday to Thursday, in six branches of Di Maggio’s (Royal Exchange Square branch is excluded; valid after 8pm at Di Maggio’s Theatreland, West Nile Street).
With five starters, six main courses and three desserts to choose from, the Di Maggio’s Big Deal Christmas menu offers plenty of choice.
Typical starters include the extra thick winter minestrone; a classic prawn cocktail; Sicilian fried mushroom risotto balls coated in breadcrumbs with mozzarella & fresh herbs or delicious chicken liver and pork paté served with oatcakes & an apple & caramelized onion chutney.
The main course will please both Italian food fans and more traditional tastes with dishes such as the roast turkey with a spicy sausage and tart Granny Smith apple stuffing, gravy, chipolatas & seasonal trimmings.
Mouth-watering alternatives include the Cajun pizza, vegetarian pizza and the tender breast of chicken filled with prosciutto ham and fresh mozzarella served with creamy tomato and herb sauce plus mash.
Of course, leave room for dessert. It wouldn’t be Christmas without Christmas pudding and hot brandy sauce. The more adventurous might prefer the chocolate profiteroles or pannacotta with wild winter berries.
Don’t forget, your choice of tea or coffee plus tablet is included in the offer.
Dedicated to offering dining for all the family, it will come as no surprise that Di Maggio’s have won the Best Family Friendly Restaurant award at the Scottish Dining Awards twice.
One of the most popular restaurant businesses on 5pm, the Di Maggio restaurants have attracted thousands of happy reviews. Short but sweet, this recent review sums up what many happy diners say:
‘Excellent Italian. This place is always busy and I’m happy every time I go here.’ Rating 4.2/5
