Enchanting house and gardens
Designed by one of Scotland’s greatest architects and with themed gardens to explore, House for an Art Lover is set in beautiful Bellahouston Park.
The house itself is a stunning example of innovative turn-of-the-century design. It also includes an arts centre and a gift shop that is an Aladdin’s Cave of Mackintosh-themed goods.
After your lunch, you can wander the grounds and explore the walled garden, peace garden, glasshouse, bothy and children’s play park.
Bellahouston Park also has plenty of its own attractions, including The Burrell Collection museum; Alice in Wonderland Maze, and Glasshouse for a Plant Collector. So why not make a day of it?
The Art Lover’s Café has plenty of admirers and has earned itself a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence as a result.
Here is what one 5pm reviewer had to say:
‘From the moment you see the building you know you are in for something special. Having the opportunity to sit in a Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed building and eat an exceptional lunch makes this one of the best places to eat in the west of Scotland. The menu has a good choice of courses and never fails to impress in the quality and presentation. The service is always courteous and efficient… When you have finished your lunch, do not fail to make a visit to the house to see the amazing designs of CRM. Going to the Art Lovers’ Café for lunch offers an experience that everyone should have at least once in their lifetime.’
