Fancy a Highland fling?
Don’t worry, we’re not suggesting that you master one of the trickier Scottish country dances.
Today’s Big Deal is for a romantic Highland break at the four star Toravaig House Hotel in Sleat on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
It was recently named the Island Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2013 – the latest of many awards.
As part of the offer, there is also the opportunity to add on a discounted sailing trip around Skye in the hotel’s luxurious, 50 foot private yacht – romance doesn’t get more suave than that.
Country house hotel
A luxurious, country house hotel which overlooks the ruins of Knock Castle, Toravaig House Hotel is the ideal destination for anyone keen to get away from it all and spark up a little romance.
A family-run establishment overlooking the Sound of Sleat, Toravaig House Hotel is a contemporary, Hebridean gem offering an intimate atmosphere, welcoming staff and delicious, innovative cuisine.
This offer is for a one or two night break in a cosy double room with a full Scottish breakfast in the morning. Tea and scones plus a glass of Champagne on arrival will help you settle in to the Toravaig.
In the evenings, a five course dinner is served in the candle-lit Iona Restaurant. Normally, £48 per person, this is discounted to £38 with today’s Big Deal.
If you really want to treat yourselves, there is the option to upgrade to a Hill View or Sea View room for £30 and £60 respectively. Supplements are per night and per room.
On midweek days in September, there is the option to take a day trip sailing on the Solus a Chuain or Light of the Ocean, the hotel’s beautiful yacht. Whales, dolphins, basking sharks, seals and seabirds have all been spotted on previous trips. A delicious light lunch is included as part of this amazing experience.
Individually designed rooms
Named after Hebridean islands, all of the nine individually designed ensuite rooms are decorated in rich fabrics and contemporary furnishings. Sky satellite TV, WiFi, power showers and luxurious Temple Spa toiletries are standard.
2 AA Rosettes
The hotel’s Islay Restaurant is the proud holder of two AA Rosettes and an enthusiastic user of local ingredients such as freshly caught langoustines and locally grown leaves and herbs. The menu changes regularly but typical dishes might be the wild sea trout with a pea shoot velouté, confit carrot, peas and chives or the Black Isle beef fillet served with carrot, a banana shallot tart tatin, horseradish and red wine.
Whether you choose to speed the bonnie boat around Skye or simply relax on dry land, this offer with Toravaig House Hotel is a great way to see one of Scotland’s most romantic islands.
When we have previously run offers with this hotel, people who bought a stay commented that they had ‘Stayed here before – it’s wonderful. Want to take my father here for his birthday = sailing the West Coast and staying in a fab hotel. He deserves it.’
If you want to spoil a friend or relative or simply would like to have a romantic island break then today’s Big Deal is perfect for you.
