The prix fixe menu changes seasonally but typical choices might include a starter of honey-whipped goat’s cheese with compressed watermelon, green beans, hazelnuts followed by the braised belly of outdoor-reared pork with black pudding mash, apple purée, creamed Savoy cabbage and pancetta jus.

Another option might be the grilled fillet of Scottish salmon with pepperade, sautéed potato and wilted spinach.

Take it easy after your meal with a dram in the Cocktail Bar and Lounge.

Cream tea is a fortifying combination of Clipper pyramid tea served with fluffy scones, Tip Tree strawberry preserve, unsalted butter and Devonshire clotted cream.

Leisure facilities

The hotel’s Vital Health and Wellbeing Club is an elegant spot and full use of the leisure facilities is part of the deal.
