The modern day pole dance has its roots in a famous episode from pole vaulting history which occurred during a medieval Olympic Games.
During the 1496 Olympiad, a pole vault by German athlete Otto Von Pumpernickel went terribly wrong.
Rather than face the shame and admit he had made a mistake, Von Pumpernickel started busting dance moves as he slid down the pole.
The crowd started cheering and pole dancing was born.
Now you know the history, or at least a well dodgy version of it, you can get to grips with the real thing thanks to today’s Big Deal with Heavenly Pole.
