Some things will always be linked in people’s minds: doing the Mobot and gold medals; Lady Gaga and unusual dress choices; Prince Harry and ill advised games of billiards.
Take up today’s Big Deal and celebrate another set of closely linked phenomena: great Italian American food and the much loved, family friendly Di Maggio restaurants.
Italian American dishes
This lip-smacking Big Deal is for a three course meal from Di Maggio’s special Big Deal menu. It’s available in all seven Di Maggio’s but you might want to check out the sleek new look of the West End branch on Ruthven Lane. Recently refurbished, it now features a cosmopolitan mix of comfortable booth seating; iconic Life magazine covers and an eye-catching, raised open fire.
Packed with the dishes which have made the Di Maggio’s restaurants so popular, the Di Maggio’s Big Deal menu includes starters like the baby back ribs; prawn cocktail; deep fried mozzarella cubes, nachos, loaded skins and, of course, the unforgettable Bad Ass wings: crispy Louisiana hot wings served with celery and a blue cheese dip.
Pasta & pizza
As well as a chicken and mushroom risotto, there are seventeen different pastas to choose from.
Alongside old faves like the spaghetti carbonara or New York style meatballs and spaghetti, there are choices like the roast chicken rigatoni and the veggie mezzeluna salsa rosa: pasta filled with ricotta cheese and spinach topped with a creamy tomato sauce.
The range of thirteen pizzas on offer include the classic Margherita; the Suzannah made with smoked chicken and bacon; pepperoni and, for the chilli-lover, the Hot and Spicy.
As well as tea or coffee and tablet, you can finish with a classic dessert, Eton Mess: a lip-licking mix of meringue, mixed berries, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
Dedicated to offering dining for all the family, it will come as no surprise that Di Maggio’s have won the Best Family Friendly Restaurant award at the Scottish Dining Awards twice.
One of the most popular restaurant businesses on 5pm, the Di Maggio’s have attracted thousands of happy reviews. Short but sweet, this recent review sums up what many happy diners say:
‘Love Di Maggio’s. Tasty food, good deal.’ Rating 5/5
