For the homme d’un certain age, watching Debbie Harry and Blondie on Top Of The Pops back in the day was a formative experience that still exerts its power today. Just hum a few bars of ‘Picture This’ in their presence and watch them succumb to a dreamy reverie.
They, along with a broader sample of the fans of New York’s finest post-punk power-pop combo, will be out in force for the upcoming gig by top Blondie tribute band Dirty Harry at Oran Mor.
One way or another, today’s Big Deal will make sure you are there with a ticket for the gig on Friday 3rd April 2020.
In The Flesh
The popularity of Dirty Harry with Blondie fans can be gauged by the rapturous sell-out crowds in recent years. Having played at the Oran Mor in Glasgow at the end of 2016 and in both April 2018 and 2019, they are back to belt out more of those timeless hits.
Singing doctor Sarah Kennedy founded Dirty Harry in 2011, looking to recapture the charisma and effortless pop style of peak-era Debbie Harry. The band has the original sound, feel, attitude, and peerless hit catalogue, ably fronted by their feisty Debbie lookalike.
The repertoire offers up all the classics, from Heart Of Glass, Call Me, Atomic, Denis, Hanging On The Telephone and One Way or Another to the 1999 comeback smash Maria.
This event is produced by Fusion Functions & Events.
Dirty Harry’s previous Glasgow shows have gone down a storm. Here’s a past review from TripAdvisor:
‘Dirty Harry came on stage, a very good Blondie tribute act. The singer, as well as singing well, had all the moves of Debbie Harry. A great night for the music.’
Live It Up
We’ve never met anyone who doesn’t love Blondie. Recapture those heady days of the 70s and 80s with this Big Deal offer.
Hey, why not buy a ticket for your dad? He’ll be touched by your present, dear. OK, that’s probably enough Blondie titles.
