You don’t have to be training to take gold at the Tokyo Olympics to benefit from the expertise of an osteopath.
When back pain starts to have a noticeable impact on your day, it’s worth exploring some pain relief options, including today’s Big Deal with Glasgow Osteopaths, offering a full spinal assessment and optional treatment.
Recognised by the BMA
Recognised by the British Medical Association as a discrete clinical discipline, osteopaths are trained to diagnose and treat many causes of pain.
From massage of soft tissues to manipulation and movement of joints, osteopaths then use a variety of techniques to treat these problems.
Osteopathic treatment is appropriate for a wide range of musculo-skeletal disorders including: back pain, neck and shoulder pain, headaches and arthritic pain.
It can be used to help sports injuries, trapped nerves and postural problems.
Available Monday to Saturday, the Big Deal option one is for one person to have a spinal assessment.
Option two is for the assessment, followed by 30 minutes of individually tailored osteopathic treatment, comprising joint manipulation and soft tissue work.
The assessment uses a spinal analysis machine and includes a diagnostic photo and an explanation of postural issues.
When you visit an osteopath for the first time, a full medical history will be taken and you will be given an examination. You may be asked to remove some of your clothing and to perform a simple series of movements so that your mobility can be evaluated.
Any points of weakness, excessive strain or specific injury will be identified. This musculo-skeletal assessment will be considered alongside lifestyle factors such as work and leisure activities.
This assessment will enable a full diagnosis and a suitable treatment plan to be determined.
Choice of clinic location
This Big Deal is available in three clinics:
Natural Health Service on Glasgow High Street
Lenzie Osteopathic Clinic on Alexandra Avenue
Paisley Osteopathic Clinic on Moss Street
Between the three clinics, their fully trained osteopaths currently treat approximately 200 osteopathic patients per week. Patients range from young babies to those of advanced age.
The osteopath clinics have helped many patients. These are testimonials which grateful clients have written on the clinics’ Facebook page. We have edited them for length:
‘Have to say my back always feels so much better after I have treatment.’
‘I can walk again without a limp.’
‘I’m due to deliver my baby next week and will be coming back in for another treatment beforehand. Muniba was professional, friendly and has markedly reduced my pain. I’ve had chronic joint pain for a long time, and really feeling the benefit already.’
