Glasgow’s first dough-less pizza joint opened recently.
And no, we don’t mean that it has foregone bready bases (in fact, all pizzas are made from delicious, 24-hour matured sourdough).
No, what we mean is that Rockvilla has taken the innovative approach of being Glasgow’s first cashless pizza restaurant.
Not that you’ll have to worry about any of that, as you won’t need to get the plastic out at all. That’s because you’ll be popping in with a Big Deal for pizzas and soft drinks for two, won’t you?
Rockvilla Pizza is based is on Possil Road, about a 10-minute walk from St. George’s Cross underground. The menu has been conjured up by Sean Toner of Dough Man’s Land pop-up pizza truck.
This Big Deal is for a freshly made, artisan sourdough pizza and draught soft drink for two. It’s suitable for sitting in or taking away, and gluten-free or vegan choices are available for a £1 supplement.
You can head in any day of the week for your pizza meal, from 2nd January until 31st March 2020.
Menus at Rockville can change, but typical choices might include Cajun chicken & roast pepper; fennel sausage with balsamic & sticky onions, and baked Portobello mushroom with fresh garlic.
Keep an eye out for the weekly special pizza, which just might be chilli con carne, if you’re lucky.
Rockvilla has been picking up enthusiastic reviews on its Facebook page:
‘Great pizzas, nice environment. Sit in or take away. All made fresh in front of you. Dips and pickles fab too. Great food.’
Grab a pizza the action
Sometimes, nothing but pizza will do.
And next time you get a craving for a tasty sourdough creation, it would be great to have this Big Deal for two stashed away to use.
Emergency artisan pizza – now that sounds like a genius idea.
