Quirky and inviting bistro
Nestled below the landmark building of The Buttery, The Shandon Belles is situated at that sweet spot where the city centre meets the West End. Part of the much-loved Two Fat Ladies restaurant family, it is a cosy bistro with exposed stone, stained glass features and walls lined with curios.
This warm, inviting and quirky space has more homely charm than the grand, historic setting of the upstairs restaurant. Yet it also has the same emphasis on thoughtful cooking using top quality ingredients.
The nearest low-level train station is Anderston and there is also car parking available for customers.
‘Will be back soon. Had a fantastic meal at Shandon Belles as the food was excellent and all the staff made us feel very welcome. Four of us had different starters, all excellent, we all had the beef and as promised by our waiter it cut like butter and tasted delicious, advisable to have some sides. Hadn’t been for a while but won’t be leaving it long before we go back, forgot how good it was.’ 5/5
‘Would return in a heartbeat. The salmon/pancetta dish was delicious. Suitable for intimate dinner or family occasion.’ 5/5
‘A lovely, relaxing evening in quirky surroundings, delicious food, very good and attentive service. Shandon Belles is one of my favourite dining places in Glasgow. Love the decor and cosy ambience. Our waiter was very good, attentive and knowledgeable. There is something for everyone, meat, fish or vegetarian and all dishes have a unique twist. Hope to return soon.’ 4.5/5
