Glasgow without Italian food would be like chips without salt; bread without butter or indeed Batman without Robin.
Celebrate one of the city’s best loved cuisines with today’s Big Deal on a fantastic three course meal at one of seven Di Maggio’s restaurants.
Italian American food
Serving Italian American food since the early Eighties, Di Maggio’s has established itself as a go-to restaurant for Glaswegian diners looking for a tasty, filling meal in a friendly, laid-back environment.
Loved by business lunchers, shoppers, students, and families alike, Di Maggio’s popularity is due to its emphasis on high quality food, generous portions and excellent service.
Di Maggio’s is a favourite with families and little ones are welcomed with a children’s menu and fun activities to keep them busy.
It is no surprise that Di Maggio’s have twice won the Best Family Friendly Restaurant award at the Scottish Restaurant Awards.
Big Deal menu
Today’s Big Deal is for one person to have a three course meal from the extensive 5pm Big Deal menu.
With a wide range of dishes to choose from, there’s something to suit every taste and appetite.
Thirteen varieties of thin crust pizzas are available, including the Palermo (Italian sausage, Canadian bacon and caramelised onions); the Hot and Spicy (hot sausage, chillies, roast peppers and onions) and the Verdi (spinach, rocket, feta, chillies, Parmesan and chilli oil).
From the seventeen pasta dishes, choose from options including the fusilli Espanola: cooked with chorizo sausage, charred chicken, spinach, Parmesan and cream; the fettuccine Di Maggio: with cream, wild mushroom, courgette and oregano; and the lasagne fomoso, Di Maggio’s all time best seller.
Starters include old favourites such as bruschetta, nachos served with chilli ground beef, hot cheese topped with sour cream and jalapenos; the traditional prawn cocktail and, our personal favourite, Di Maggio’s Crispy Bad Ass Louisiana Hot Wings served with celery sticks and blue cheese dip.
Your meal is topped off with a Di Maggio’s ice cream oyster dessert followed by a tea or coffee.
The Di Maggio’s restaurants are among the most popular on 5pm and our users have been quick to make their thoughts known on the restaurants’ review pages.
This review was left on the 5pm page of Di Maggio’s on Royal Exchange Square last week:
‘Great, really enjoyed it. Lovely food, great price, nice staff, definitely be back. Thank you.’ Rating 5/5
This one comes from a recent TripAdvisor review:
‘5pm Big Deal – superb value. Dined on the 5pm Big Deal menu – three courses for £10 each. I wasn’t expecting much but the food was lovely! Such great value for money and I am already planning my next visit!’
Glasgow and Di Maggio’s go together like Starsky and Hutch.
