The menu offers the freshest ingredients and local produce in a wide range of dishes. You could go Thai with a red prawn curry or Indian with the chicken tikka masala.

A more trad option might be the steak and Doombar ale pie; served with rosemary and garlic potato wedges, buttered cabbage and spring greens.

A vegetarian option might be the pumpkin and ricotta tortellini with mushroom, spinach and a white wine cream sauce.

The hotel is so well positioned… a few minute’s walk to the train station and all the shops. Breakfast was self service and very good.
