Once upon a time, on Main Street in Milngavie, there was a cinema called the Douglas Picture House. There, locals would gather nightly to watch the flickering screen.

To this day, people still assemble in the very same spot, but for different reasons. Now it’s to enjoy delicious food and cocktails, not movies. And nowadays, the only flickering comes from the candles.

Yet Finsbay restaurant, bar and cafe still honours the past with a retro-chic interior that’s both quirky and comfortable. And you can soak up the ambience with today’s Big Deal for a meal for two plus optional Prosecco.

This Big Deal has three options. Option one is for two people to have a main course each. Option two adds an extra course and option three includes a glass of Prosecco too. The menu is seasonal, and may be subject to change, but may look a lot like this:

Cullen skink

Haggis and black pudding tartlet served with a whisky cream and pea shoots

Red pepper hummus with red onion chutney and sourdough

Mains

Classic burger served with skinny chips and chipotle sauce

Wild mushroom and asparagus risotto topped with rocket and candied chestnuts

Mac and cheese served with skinny chips

Desserts

Sticky toffee pudding served with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream

White chocolate & Baileys mousse and shortbread fingers

New York cheesecake served with raspberry coulis and whipped cream

This deal is available Sunday to Friday from 5pm to 9pm, until the end of March. You can also buy multiples, with a maximum of four people per table.
