Why was the pirate captain so bad at golf? Because he kept hooking the ball!
Stay tuned for more crackers, folks.
Or maybe just run as far as you can away from our bad jokes – all the way to Fife Leisure Park in fact, for a round of pirate-themed mini-golf with today’s Big Deal.
Valid until the end of March, this would make a great stocking filler gift for anyone you know who’d love a fun day out with a difference.
Yo ho ho and a game of golf
Adventure Golf Island in Fife Leisure Park is a Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired mini-golf experience for both children and adults. You could head there with the family or group of friends or even make it unique date with your other half.
Today’s Big Deal is for a round of mini-golf for two or four people, with one drink per person included, as well as a golf visor each to keep. The 18-hole outdoor Treasure Island course is standard with the deal.
The 18-hole indoor Pirates Cove course, situated in a heated dome, costs an extra £2 per person, which you can pay directly at the venue. Play on both courses for an extra £5 per person.
Adventure Golf Island is a 45-minute drive from Edinburgh and around an hour from Glasgow, so it’s not too far to travel for a fun day out. Plus, as the course is fully floodlit, you can even make it an evening adventure.
Situated in Fife Leisure Park, Scotland’s largest entertainment spot, there is also plenty of parking available.
Thrilling special effects
The Treasure Island course is in a beautifully landscaped, tropical-style setting of waterfalls, fountains and river rapids. You will be able to see Captain Jack Sparrow’s Jail, the Caribbean Adventure pirate ship and the rope bridge. You can also expect some special effects along the way.
The biggest challenge is the daringly difficult Hole 11 – do you have what it takes to conquer it? Plus at the end of the course you can also take the ‘18th Hole Challenge’ – if you succeed, you will win a free round at Adventure Golf Island.
Treasure Island also has full disabled access and pushchairs can easily be taken around this course. All equipment will be provided for you. As you will be outdoors, remember to dress suitably on the day.
Happy golfers
Recent visitors to Adventure Golf Island have praised it on TripAdvisor. We’ve edited these reviews for shortness:
‘Great fun. Took the kids and they had a ball on the outdoor course. Also got a lucky bag each for the letter treasure hunt which was a nice way to cap off the round. Def go again!’
‘Best in Central Scotland. Having experienced the same company courses at Braehead and Livingston, was so pleased to give Dunfermline a go. Was by far the best of all three with great variety on both courses. Some holes on each course were reminiscent of those you would play abroad and gave an added bonus to the experience…’
‘Fantastic place. Just visited adventure golf island for the first time. Really helpful staff, friendly and made us feel very welcome. We played both courses, great fun for all, will be returning…’
