Is Balbirnie House hotel fast becoming the love capital of Scotland?
Let’s look at the evidence – it has its own Parisian style ‘love fence’, where couples can pin padlocks. The restaurant was named one of Scotland’s five most romantic by The Scotsman and it also won the title of Europe’s Best Romantic Hotel in a global award.
In other words, it’s the perfect place to whisk your partner off to for a special meal.
That said, you don’t have to take your other half – any loved one would appreciate the excellent cuisine and parkland walks (especially if they’ve got a birthday coming up).
Soak up the country house charm with a three course dinner for two, including a glass of fizz each, with today’s Big Deal.
Three course dinner
With its 18th century elegance, dreamy rooms and 400 acres of parkland, it’s safe to say that Balbirnie House is one of Europe’s most romantic hotels.
Today’s Big Deal is for a three course dinner for two with a glass of fizz each in the highly regarded Orangery restaurant.
One of Fife’s finest dining spots
Voted one of Scotland’s five most romantic restaurants by The Scotsman, Orangery is a gorgeous glass ceilinged space decorated in shades of silver, copper and chocolate.
Offering classic and contemporary Scottish cuisine, it has become one of Fife’s special destination restaurants. Yet the relaxed, informal service means that you can sit back and unwind over your three course meal.
Menus at Orangery shift with the seasons, but expect starters like the smoked salmon roulade with curried crab, pickled fennel, apple and coriander salad, the bang band chicken salad with spicy peanut, chilli, ginger sauce, toasted sesame seeds, or the goats cheese mousse with oat crumb and red onion jam.
Mains often include the piri piri chicken breast with spicy relish, coleslaw and fries, smoked Applewood & leek croquette with red onion & chilli relish and vegetarian gravy, or the Smokeyjoe burger, served with lettuce, gherkin, smoked cheddar, bacon, chipotle mayo, bbq, crispy onions and a side of fries and coleslaw.
Desserts are likely to be along the lines of sticky date, toffee and walnut pudding with deluxe vanilla ice cream, lemon cheesecake with blackberries and sorbet, or the spice-roasted pineapple with white rum syrup and coconut sorbet.
Supplements may apply to some dishes.
