Artic lorry driving experience

This Big Deal is for one person to enjoy an artic lorry driving experience in Crail, Fife.

Guests on the deal will get the chance to drive a 480bhp Renault Magnum lorry with a 55ft Transporter behind. 

Mammoth vehicle

The first thing that will strike the person taking up this deal is the height of the lorry; it’s so high there are three steps to climb before the driver can get anywhere close to clambering into the cabin (apparently the sign of a good trucker is one who can get back into their cab with a coffee in one hand and not spill a drop).

Sitting in the driver’s seat is like sitting at mission control, except with panoramic views of the road ahead, sound systems and lockers overhead, and a lorry and 55ft long trailer in the wing mirror behind. Reversing round a corner suddenly becomes a lot more challenging.

Each driver will get 15 to 20 minutes at the wheel, and time sitting on the bench-style crew seat behind the driver as the others in the group take a turn to drive.
