Balbirnie House in Glenrothes ticks all of these heart-shaped boxes, which is why it rightly won the title.
With this in mind, you’d score major Brownie points with your other half by treating them to today’s dining offer. That said, it would also make for a lovely family dinner as well.
Country house dining
Today’s Big Deal has two choices for dining a la carte in The Bistro at Balbirnie House.
Option one is for a two course dinner for two, while option two adds on an extra course each.
Please note that supplements may apply to some dishes.
This offer is available seven days a week from 2nd January to 31st March 2020.
Charmingly rustic
With its stone walls and flickering candles, The Bistro at Balbirnie House is a charmingly rustic spot serving Scottish and European comfort food.
Sample mains include slow-braised beef bourguignon with buttered tagliatelle; beer-battered Peterhead haddock with chips, and butternut squash ravioli with tarragon and lemon sauce.
Or you could try the special recipe Balbirnie Burger with an Aberdeen Angus Limousin beef patty or the salmon burger with soured cream and smashed avocado.

Treat for couples and families
This Big Deal is very flexible, available from January to March, you could turn it into a special evening.
As well as sampling the cuisine, you will also have a chance to explore the lovely grounds of Balbirnie House. And golfers – bear in mind that Balbirnie Park club is nearby.
Plus if you are planning on whisking your other half along with you, then don’t forget to take a padlock for that lovers’ fence…

The Big Deal option 1 is for 2 people to each have a 2 course dinner from the a la carte menu.
Option 2 is for 2 people to each have a 3 course dinner from the a la carte menu.
Vegetarian & gluten/wheat free options available – please advise the restaurant at time of booking.
Supplements may apply to some dishes, payable directly to the restaurant.
Valid for dining in The Bistro only.
Advance booking of at least 24 hours required.
48 hour cancellation policy applies. Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in purchase being invalidated.
Multiple purchases permitted. Max 4 people per booking.
Children welcome.
The Bistro is not wheelchair accessible due to Balbirnie Park being a Grade A listed building.
Free on-site parking available.
Purchases cannot be used by wedding guests staying at the hotel.
Printed order email must be presented on arrival.
