Watching a spider rebuild his web is said to have inspired Robert the Bruce to try and try again.
We reckon that today’s Big Deal from de Brus microbrewery, bar and restaurant is an offer which lots of people will want to try several times.
A handsome, two-storey townhouse, located in the centre of Dunfermline and just along the road from the Alhambra Theatre, The Bruery makes its own craft beers and ciders.
Since opening in 2013, its beers and menus packed with local produce have attracted many fans from Dunfermline and further afield.
As The Bruery’s popularity grows, today’s Big Deal is a great introduction to the charms of Dunfermline’s only independently owned brewery and bar.
Available noon to 9pm, Sunday to Thursday, this offer is for one person to have a starter and main course or main course and dessert.
Popular starters at The Bruery include the traditional Italian bruschetta ; the smoked, garlic-infused chicken liver pâté; the pan-seared scallops with black pudding and crispy bacon plus the haggis fritters with Irn Bru chutney.
The haddock and chips has many fans as do the slow-cooked steak pie and the haggis-stuffed chicken breast wrapped in Parma ham.
There is also a stir fry, Aberdeen Angus burger and a range of rustic pizza to choose from.
The choice of desserts ranges from sticky toffee pudding in a rich toffee sauce to crème brûlée with shortbread.
Steaks are not included in the offer.
The kitchen has been wowing diners on TripAdvisor. These comments were taken from reviews which were left recently:
‘Great place for food and drinks. Great atmosphere. I’m a fairly regular visitor to De Brus. The staff are always lovely, the food is delicious… Great range of in-house beers and ales on offer, lovely wines too. Sometimes a wee bit crowded in the evenings, but that can only be a good sign I suppose. Great location, lots of parking nearby and also near a taxi rank/bus/train station.’
‘Fabulous beer and with a good range of decent grub to choose from.’
If you haven’t already visited, this offer would make a great introduction to The Bruery.
It would also be ideal for a bite before a show at The Alhambra; perfect for a night out with friends and a sweet option for a date night.
Moreover, it would also make tasty centrepiece for a day trip to Dunfermline and its historic Abbey and Palace.
Factor in the additional appeal of trying the de Brus award-winning craft beers and this is one deal that you will want to try and try again.
