Streaming, antibiotics and chai lattes – modern life is marvellous in many ways.
Although if we hear the phrase ‘going forward’ once more, we may have to scream into a cushion for the rest of the morning.

A short drive from central Edinburgh, the four star Norton House Hotel & Spa is set in 55 acres of manicured grounds.

‘A wonderful weekend. We recently stayed here with a group of friends and we all thought the hotel was excellent… close to the airport and is set in beautiful grounds. The executive room we had was large and very comfortable with a huge bathroom, it even had a TV in the bath! The meal we ate in the restaurant was delicious and the service we received was excellent. We used the spa and the pool and can definitely recommend a facial. We also had afternoon tea at the spa and thoroughly enjoyed that too. This is a lovely hotel with excellent facilities and very attentive staff who made our weekend a memorable one.’
‘Tranquil. Traditional hotel with good service. My room was large and very clean…. Good friendly service. Dinner was excellent and breakfast pancakes were to die for…’
‘Will go back. We had a Junior Suite which was brilliant, as it had two showers and bathrooms… The room was excellent and clean with all facilities. The food in the restaurant was superb and all the staff were very friendly and attentive.’
