Award-winning chefs

Crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2017, The Pompadour by Galvin is a landmark dining spot in the 5-star Caledonian Waldorf Astoria on Princes Street.

Dishes at The Pompadour combine the best of classical French-inspired cuisine with locally sourced Scottish ingredients to create a unique and innovative fine dining experience. The menus are accompanied by an impressive wine list.

The restaurant is led by brothers Jeff and Chris Galvin, who have earned multiple Michelin stars and AA Rosettes, and even cooked for royalty. Acclaimed Executive Chef, Daniel Ashmore, has been charged with overseeing the brothers’ vision.

Stunning interior

The Pompadour first opened in 1925 and inside, you will an elegantly restored space of hand-painted walls, dreamy pastels and stunning views of Edinburgh Castle.

The atmosphere is both intimate and relaxed, and feels a little like being in the private chambers of a fairytale French princess.

There is also an exclusive cocktail salon where you can relax with pre-dinner aperitifs or a post meal coffee and digestif.

‘Seasonal 5 course taster menu with matched wines for each course. The Sommelier explained each of the wines and why they were matched. The waiters also explained each of the courses in detail.
