Established in 1924, the hotel has retained most of its original period features.

The Edinburgh Thistle has fifteen individually designed ensuite bedrooms. All rooms are elegant, comfortable and spacious, with king size or super king size beds. Each has an HD Digital Colour Plasma TV/radio with Freeview, DVD player, wifi, alarm clock, phone, desk and tea and coffee making facilities.

Food and drink

Your continental breakfast includes fresh croissants, chocolate croissants and butteries from the hotel’s favourite bakers, Donachie’s. The continental also includes toast, fruit and a selection of juices, tea and coffee.

Alternatively, you can pay £7 extra for a traditional Scottish breakfast. This includes high-quality produce such as sweet-cured smoked bacon, Cumberland sausages and local black pudding.

If you fancy a drink after a day sightseeing, the hotel’s Manor Lounge Bar has a traditional Scottish ambience and an extensive range of single malt whiskies, draught and bottled beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks.
