Do you like delicious food?
Are you interested in top chefs demonstrating their kitchen skills?
Do you want to discover great new products from artisan producers?
If you have answered yes to any of the above then prepare to have your taste buds tickled by today’s Big Deal on the Foodies Festival taking place at Edinburgh’s Inverleith Park from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th August.
This fantastic Big Deal means that you can buy day tickets for any of the three days for £5. Under sixteens accompanied by an adult enjoy free entry so it all adds up to a fun and very accessible day out.
Whether you are a six year-old Jamie Oliver, a sixty year-old Prue Leith or simply a fortysomething foodie, there is something for everyone at this gourmet extravaganza. From the hands-on Children’s Cookery School to wine and food matching master classes via the Street Food Avenue and its global flavours, Foodies features events for all tastes.
For many, one of the highlights will be watching chefs at the top of their game whiz up dishes in the Chef’s Theatre. Appearing at Edinburgh are local stars Neil Forbes of Cafe St Honore; Mattia Camorani of Cucina at Hotel Missoni and the Michelin-starred talents of Jeff Bland from The Balmoral’s Number One. Also sure to whip up interest is Norman Musa, the rising Malaysian star whose Ning restaurant in Manchester is turning heads.
Live entertainment has always been a big part of Foodies and watching Fringe stars try to switch from comedy to the kitchen is always popular.
Tim Vine, star of Not Going Out; Fringe favourite Lucy Porter and telly star Stephen K Amos will all be showing off their fantastic gags and often unconventional cooking techniques.
