Picture the scene – you have just cut into a hot, juicy, tender steak drenched in delicious sauce. Beside you is a glass full of wine, while across from you is your favourite person. Bliss.
Seriously, what better way to enjoy a special lunch or dinner than with a really good steak?
Better still, why not enjoy your choice of cut in the distinctly Gallic setting of Hotel Du Vin’s charming and welcoming bistro?
Served up with sauce, fries and a glass of wine each, this Big Deal on a steak meal for two could be saved for a special celebration, night out at a show or just an indulgent sunny day lunch.
Classic bistro in Old Town
Tucked away off Bristo Place, Hotel du Vin’s bistro is a cosy, welcoming space with restored fireplaces, rustic reclaimed floorboards and lots of wine merchant memorabilia.
Service is polished but informal and the intimate courtyard area – complete with heaters – is well worth seeking out on milder days.
Bistro Du Vin is around a brisk 10-minute walk from Waverley train station and is close to the Festival Theatre. Pay parking can be found nearby at Q Car Park.
Cut of the day
Available Monday to Friday for lunch or dinner until 26th July, today’s Big Deal serves up a steak for two.
Your carnivorous feast will be accompanied by a choice of sauce, fries and a glass of red or white.
All steaks at Bistro Du Vin are dry-aged on the bone for a minimum of 28 days. You can receive the chef’s cut of steak available that day.
Sauce options will be jus rôti, Béarnaise, garlic butter or peppercorn. Wine will be the Sommelier’s choice of the week.
Onglet and sharing steaks are not included.
