Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel must have one of the most Scottish addresses in the world. Not only does it sit on the banks of Loch Lochy, a place so Scottish they named it twice, it also overlooks the Great Glen.
As you might expect in such a spot, Highland hospitality plays a large part at the Letterfinlay which bills itself as the ‘small hotel with the big character’.
The Big Deal is for an overnight stay for two in the Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel. It is a cosy wee place with fourteen bedrooms. They are all en-suite and many have magnificent lochside views. TV and DVD players along with hot drinks facilities come as standard.
Guests with pets are well catered for. The Letterfinlay Lodge Hotel has a room designed for dogs and their owners with its own access to the side of the building.
A full Scottish breakfast is included in the big Deal and if you choose to dine in the hotel’s Osprey Wine Bar and Restaurant then you are in for a fine meal.
Local produce from minch and moor features prominently whether it be local venison, Letterfinlay smoked salmon or the Isle of Skye beer used in the popular steak and ale pie.
The restaurant enjoys views across the water and, if the weather is good, guests can eat al fresco on the sun deck.
The surrounding area is jam-packed with places to see and things to do. From hill walking to distillery visits via skiing, around Spean Bridge is a great part of the world. The hotel even has two speed boats if you are itching to get out on to the water.
Great gift idea
Vouchers for this Big Deal are valid until the end of April. It would make a great winter getaway for you or an ideal Christmas gift for a lucky friend or family member.
Lots of previous guests have been blown over by the hotel and it is very well reviewed on TripAdvisor. This is the glowing review of Anne P who stayed recently:
‘We were so impressed, we have booked for New Year and can’t wait to go back. This is an absolute wonderful hotel in a fantastic setting, the views are amazing. I stayed in room 3 which was lovely, spacious and with a good view. To say the meals were excellent is an understatement and we cannot praise the staff enough, they were so helpful and friendly. I am so glad this was recommended to us and I will recommend to anyone I know who is travelling to Scotland.’
