A duck just floated past the Big Deal office and we’re on the fifth floor.

While the summer weather may be hard to forecast, we can confidently predict that today’s Big Deal on the seasonal menu at Galvin Brasserie de Luxe will bring the sunshine.

Five star surrounds

Part of the five star Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – The Caledonian, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe is a chic brasserie which opened in 2012 under the umbrella of Chris and Jeff Galvin.

The Galvins are chef brothers whose London-based restaurants have caught the eye of the Michelin inspectors several times.

Their Edinburgh brasserie has a Michelin Bib Gourmand, indicating ‘good food at affordable prices’.

Available throughout Festival

Available Monday to Sunday, the offer is for two people to each have the three course seasonal menu, a glass of house wine and tea or coffee to finish.

As the name indicates, the menu changes with the seasons. This is the current menu:

Starters

Gazpacho, burrata, olive tapenade & red pepper mayonnaise

Treacle-cured salmon, pickled ginger & tapioca crisp

Main courses

Coley fillet, petit pois á la française

Gressingham duck breast, leg & bon bon, chicory marmalade & carrot apricot purée

Desserts
Plate de fromages, artisan crackers, pear & grape chutney

White chocolate brulée, raspberry coulis

The Lyceum, Traverse and Usher Hall are all a five minute walk from Galvin Brasserie de Luxe.
